I love making inspiration boards, even more so when I am making one to propose home projects to my husband, Kevin. (I know, poor Kevin.) Recently, Kevin and I added a new rescue to our family, Ellie Mae. She is full of life, personality, and so much more energy than Bear. With the addition of another pup, I’ve been thinking incessantly about getting our backyard fenced-in and updating our outdoor space. Inspiration boards allow me to convey lofty designs into tangible, realistic plans on paper. It’s exciting to hunt for “just the right” product to complete the look you have mentally created and watch the plan unfold and take shape.
Here’s the plan: We currently have a wood deck patio we built over an existing slab of concrete. To the right of the deck, I am proposing a Oyster Shell Tabby Patio with Firepit. Surrounding the Firepit, two existing wood adirondack chairs and adding two wood rocking chairs. On the wood deck, remove the existing dining table and matching benches, which we rarely use, and replace with an outdoor conversation set which is more practical and useable. Both options above are made by Better Homes and Garden. The top option still leaves standing room around the deck whereas the bottom option is utilizing deck space for maximized outdoor seating. Personally, I’m leaning toward the second option but that’s a decision Kevin and I will have to discuss.
